Once you join, you get as much training as you want/need with a USCG certified captain, and instantly go boating on brand new center consoles, bowriders, tritoons, fishing boats, inflatables, etc. Meanwhile, our staff is behind the scenes taking care of everything else so you don't have to! Cleaning, storage, regular maintenance, insurance, repairs, waterway education, seasonal haul in/out, critical supplies on board, weather prep, docking assistance, & more!Additionally, we host social events, captained outings, lake tours, unlimited training, hazard mitigation tours, and so much more that members are informed & invited to! We have two main boating plans - 7 day access, which means you can boat any and everyday. Or, weekday only access, which means you can only make reservations to go boating Monday through Friday.
We do have other plans such as Friends & Family Boating Plans, & Corporate Boating Plans. Between our innovative reservation system, effective member to boat ratio, 24/7 on-site dock staff to take spur of the moment boating calls, and the ever-changing dynamics of people's lives - we assure you that you will be on the water as often as you desire. If you are diligent about going boating on a specific day that you may not previously had planned, you can & you will! Our members naturally go boating more than boat owners because of the ease of access and abundant boat availability.INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP
Membership includes unlimited training and an extensive insurance coverage for both an A and B member. The policy outlines a $2500 deductible for members if responsible for damage, and another $2500 deductible on any injured person, and we offer yearly enrollment in a Peace of Mind plan for the agreement for $500 for one, or $750 for both members that would waive their liability and deductible completely. The Peace of Mind plan covers members boating out of any and all Freedom Boat Club locations.RECIPROCAL ACCESS - A GAMECHANGING VALUE
Reciprocal access for members is 4 reservations, per location, per year. For example - Tampa Bay has 20+ dock locations within a 45 minute radius. Members can use each individual location a minimum of 4 times each year at any time! That's 80+ boat outings to use in that area alone & there are over 100 locations in Florida alone!HOME CLUB UNDERSTANDING
At your home club, Detroit/Lake St. Clair (all 4 locations in SE MI + any we grow into are considered your home club) you have unlimited access. You can walk up day of call day of or use reservations. You get a maximum of 4 you can hold in the system, and they are rolling. Meaning that once you use it, you make it available to you to put right back into system. Example, if you have reservations for May 2, 7, 20, and 23rd in the system you cannot make another one (but you could still call dock or walk up and go out without it counting toward your 4). Once you check the boat back in on the reservation for the 2nd, you can now put in a new reservation for a different date either before your other ones, in between, or after, up to you!As the club memberships grow, we purchase more boats and more locations. The value of the membership you purchase will continue to appreciate over time, but your rate you lock in at the time you join will not increase.
